Drip Email Campaigns

A drip email campaign sends a planned sequence of emails at intervals designed to guide a subscriber from awareness to action. AppLabx builds the full sequence — strategy, copy, design, automation setup and QA — at a fixed fee, with packages from US$7,500 for a 3-email drip to US$15,000 for an 8-email campaign.

What is a drip email campaign?

A drip email campaign is a pre-built sequence of emails delivered automatically on a set schedule. Unlike a one-off blast, each email in the sequence is timed to build on the previous one — moving the subscriber closer to a specific outcome, whether that is product activation, purchase, re-engagement or education.

Drip campaigns work because they respect the subscriber's timeline. Instead of sending everything at once, you release information in the right order at the right pace. A welcome series introduces your brand over three to five touchpoints. A lead-nurturing sequence builds trust before asking for a sale. An onboarding flow guides a new user through key features step by step.

AppLabx builds drip email campaigns for B2B and B2C companies across Southeast Asia, APAC and the Middle East. We handle the full scope: sequence strategy and message architecture, copywriting for every email, campaign design and branded templates, HTML/CSS email build, timing and cadence planning, segmentation, automation configuration in your ESP, and end-to-end testing and QA. You choose the package — 3, 5 or 8 emails — and we deliver a production-ready campaign that is live in your platform and firing on schedule.

When drip campaigns are the right choice

Drip campaigns solve specific problems. Here are the situations where they deliver the most value.

Onboarding sequences

New users or customers need guidance to reach their first "aha" moment. A drip sequence walks them through setup, core features and early wins — reducing churn in the first 30 days.

Lead nurturing

Not every lead is ready to buy today. A nurture drip keeps your brand present, delivers useful content at each stage of the funnel and progressively qualifies interest until the lead is sales-ready.

Welcome series

The first email a subscriber receives sets expectations. A well-crafted welcome drip introduces your brand story, sets the tone for future communication and drives early engagement — typically the highest-open-rate emails you will ever send.

Product education

Complex products need more than a landing page. A drip sequence breaks features, use cases and benefits into digestible emails that build understanding over time — ideal for SaaS, fintech and technical products.

Post-purchase follow-up

After a purchase, a drip sequence can confirm the order, deliver usage tips, request a review and introduce complementary products — turning a one-time buyer into a repeat customer.

Re-engagement

Subscribers who have gone quiet need a structured reason to come back. A re-engagement drip identifies inactive contacts, delivers targeted content and either reactivates them or cleans your list.

What's included in every drip campaign

Whether you choose 3, 5 or 8 emails, every package includes the same end-to-end deliverables.

How the process works

Seven steps from kick-off to live campaign.

  1. Discovery & Strategy

We align on your campaign objectives, target audience, subscriber journey and key conversion actions. You complete a short briefing document and we hold a 60-minute strategy session.

  2. Message Architecture

Our strategists map the full sequence — email-by-email narrative arc, trigger logic, timing cadence and segmentation rules. You approve the architecture before copy begins.

  3. Copywriting

Our writers produce subject lines, preview text, body copy and CTAs for every email in the sequence — written in your brand voice and aligned to the approved message architecture.

  4. Design & Build

Our designers create branded templates for each email, and our developers build production-ready responsive HTML/CSS — tested across email clients, devices and screen sizes.

  5. Automation Setup

We configure the full automation workflow in your ESP — triggers, delays, branching logic, entry/exit criteria and suppression rules. Everything is wired up and ready to fire.

  6. Testing & QA

Comprehensive QA: link validation, spam-score testing, inbox rendering checks, pixel verification and deliverability review. Every email is tested before anything goes live.

  7. Deployment

The campaign is activated in your platform. We confirm trigger functionality, monitor early sends and deliver a handover document with full workflow documentation.

What the client needs to provide

To keep the project on schedule, we need the following from your team before or during kick-off.

  • Brand guidelines — logo, colours, typography, tone of voice
  • Access to your ESP or marketing automation platform
  • Subscriber data or list for the campaign segment
  • Product or service information relevant to the campaign
  • Existing content assets — case studies, testimonials, landing pages
  • Key conversion actions and goals for the sequence
  • Compliance requirements — CAN-SPAM, GDPR, PDPA or regional rules
  • Stakeholder review and approval at each milestone

What this is NOT

Drip campaigns are powerful but scoped. Here is where the boundaries are.

Not complex enterprise lifecycle automation

A drip campaign is a linear or lightly branched sequence. If you need multi-channel orchestration, CRM-triggered workflows, predictive scoring or enterprise-grade lifecycle automation across email, SMS, push and in-app — that is a different engagement. See our email automation services for complex lifecycle builds.

Not a full lifecycle system build

Drip campaigns sit within a lifecycle system but are not the system itself. If you need end-to-end lifecycle architecture — from acquisition through retention and expansion — consider our Lifecycle System Build instead.

Not ongoing management

This is a fixed-fee build engagement, not a retainer. We build the campaign, deploy it and hand it over. If you need ongoing campaign management, optimisation and reporting, see our email marketing management service.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose between 3, 5 and 8 emails?

It depends on your objective. A 3-email sequence works well for simple nurture flows — a welcome series, a re-engagement nudge or a short onboarding path. A 5-email campaign gives enough room for message layering: introduce the problem, present the solution, address objections, provide social proof, and close. An 8-email campaign suits longer sales cycles where education and trust-building are required — complex B2B products, high-consideration purchases or multi-stakeholder buying processes. We help you decide during the strategy phase based on your audience, funnel stage and goals.

Can I upgrade from a 3-email to a 5-email campaign later?

Yes. Many clients start with a 3-email sequence to validate the approach, then upgrade to a 5 or 8-email campaign once they see results. Because the strategy and message architecture are built to be extensible, adding emails later is straightforward. You pay only the incremental cost difference — we do not charge you twice for work already completed.

What is the typical turnaround time?

A 3-email drip campaign is typically delivered in 2–3 weeks from kick-off. A 5-email campaign takes 3–4 weeks, and an 8-email campaign takes 4–5 weeks. This includes strategy development, copywriting, design, HTML build, automation configuration and QA. Timelines can be compressed if you have existing brand guidelines and clear messaging direction.

Do you write the copy for every email?

Yes. Every drip campaign package includes full copywriting for each email in the sequence — subject lines, preview text, body copy and CTAs. Our copywriters work from your brand voice, audience insights and campaign objectives. We also handle revisions as part of the fixed fee, so you can refine messaging before anything goes live.

Which email platforms do you work with?

We build and configure drip campaigns across all major ESPs and marketing automation platforms — including Mailchimp, HubSpot, Klaviyo, ActiveCampaign, SendGrid, Brevo (formerly Sendinblue), Marketo and Pardot. If your platform supports automation workflows, we can set up the campaign within it. We do not require you to switch tools.

Can I add more emails to the sequence after launch?

Absolutely. Drip campaigns are designed to be extended. Once the initial sequence is live, you can add additional emails at any time — whether you want to extend the nurture path, add a re-engagement branch or build a follow-up sequence. We offer add-on pricing for additional emails outside the original package scope.
